Our screen-printed blackwork collection takes its inspiration from many forms, from Medieval Knights and armour to Elizabethan Lace and Georgian embroidery to archive costume and textiles.
Our print collection started back in 2004 mainly inspired by Elizabethan blackwork embroidery, hence the name, since then it has been growing and our collection so far consists of:
Peapods, Elizabethan Garden, Strawberry Garden, Strawberries, Enchanted Garden, Sea Monsters, Lacework, Flower Garden, Bowman, Armoured Knight, Saxon Warrior, Partridge, & Four Calling Birds!
And there are many more in work and on their way!
All the prints begin as hand drawn artwork by myself, which are then transferred onto screens ready to use for printing.
All of our designs are placement prints and are printed in batches, mainly late at night to allow drying time and space to hang. I print everything myself and print onto linen as I like to work on fabrics related to the periods, and linen is always a classic fabric to use.
